Digital Twin technology is increasingly utilized across various industries, including the semiconductor sector, where it aids in representing processes, tools, and entire supply chains virtually. These virtual representations allow for the prediction of performance, yield, and operational efficiency. As the technology evolves, newer models incorporating real-time data synchronization are enhancing accuracy, enabling more real-time applications. With semiconductor manufacturing becoming more complex, accurate Digital Twins are increasingly essential for guiding product development. The proliferation of software tools and platforms further facilitates the creation and deployment of Digital Twin systems in real-world operations. A recently concluded workshop discussed industry insights, defining Digital Twins, describing their taxonomy, and exploring their complexity and challenges in semiconductor manufacturing toward AI-driven autonomous factories of the future.
